This black and white 35 mm photograph features Leslie and Jerry's new baby. Jerry is sitting on the kitchen counter, while Leslie is positioned to the right of him at the kitchen table. Nicki, my then-girlfriend, is holding Leslie's baby. Leslie and Nicki grew up together in West Virginia. This photo was taken approximately four months before Jerry passed away; he was electrocuted while putting a new roof on a neighbor's house. Leslie became a widow before the age of 27.
