A boat dock floats out on a lake with a mountain in the distance. It is a hazy grey day. The mountain has evergreen trees on its slopes and rocky ledges with a little snow on top. Some houses line the far shore. The mountain is reflected in the mostly calm water. The boat ramp can be seen under the clear water to the lower left. The trail where photos were taken a few days ago on a sunny day across the lake can be seen on the lower left side of the mountain.

A partially frozen pond reflects a two-topped peak in the distance. Some snow is at the top of the dark, evergreen sided peaks. The neat shore is sandy with sticks.

Recent #dogwalks combined with #birding. Q’ówqèwem #kawkawalake had little ice, a view of Qemqemó #MountOgilvie and many coots plus dreams of swimming and boating in the summertime. Starrett’s pond had a lot of ice, many ring-necked ducks and a nice reflection of Islléleqw #Isolillockpeak

A calm river with a curvy shore leads towards poplar trees that are golden in the morning sun. In the distance are tall mountains with slopes covered in evergreen trees. On the horizon is a mountain with two heads, which is the translation of the name in Halq’eméylem. Wispy clouds wiggle up high.

Happy that the river has receded enough that Cooper and I can 🦮 on the shore.

Whisky white mare’s tail clouds float above a two-headed mountain. A little bit of snow remains on its rocky spire. Closer mountains are covered in dark evergreens and a large muddy river curves to the right in the foreground.

Two tall trees with no branches to the west are silhouetted against a large muddy river with a clear stream flowing into it. A neighborhood can be seen in the distance and the view is flanked by evergreen covered mountainsides and a two-headed rocky peak with small remnants of snow at the top.

A large reddish brown and white hound dog stands on a pebbly beach by a large muddy river. He was surrendered to the SPCA in 2021 and has been my hiking buddy since we adopted him. In the background there are deciduous trees along the shore then mountains covered in evergreen trees. Two peaks in the centre are topped with rocky crags and snow. The Indigenous name for the mountain means “two heads.”

The same reddish brown and white hound dog is lit up by the morning sun as he wades in the river. Rocks can be seen through the water. The dog is on a retractable lead. He is always on a leash because he is a hound dog and would follow his nose to the end of the earth. The view is looking downriver with a steep mountain on the left showing signs of a forest fire (2022) with many standing dead trees on its flanks and green trees near the top the lower part of a mountain is seen on the right, with a rocky shoulder and evergreen trees.

Out walking the dog this morning and my favourite mountain, Islléleqw #Isolillockpeak appeared above the fog. Yes, I am fortunate to live in such a gorgeous place in the country of my choice. 🇨🇦
