For #birdoftheday #manmadeperch, here is an incredible (juvenile?) red-tailed hawk, perched on a light in the parking lot of my local Costco a couple weeks ago. The store had just opened, so there weren't a lot of cars yet, and there were some songbirds attracting his attention.

I've always loved this pair hanging out on a hose(?) in a little duck pond near my house.
For my #TheBirdOfTheDay and #ManMadePerch entry here is a pigeon who seems intent on ignoring the “No riding on sidewalks” warning.
A vibrant Rainbow Lorikeet stands front-and-center, looking directly at the camera taking up most of the frame. Its face is a deep, textured violet-blue, contrasted by a bright orange and red beak and a glowing red eye. Below its head, a brilliant chest of fiery orange and yellow transitions into a dark blue belly and green wings. The bird is perched on a dark, horizontal edge—a roof gutter—with its grey, taloned feet firmly planted. Therr is red roof tile behidn it. The background is a soft, out-of-focus mix of green foliage and golden sunlight, creating a shimmering "bokeh" effect that makes the bird's neon plumage pop as if it just stepped out of a technicolor dream.
