Doucai (斗彩, "contrasted" or "fitted" colors) is an exquisite Chinese porcelain technique, peaking during the Ming dynasty’s Chenghua era (1465–1487). It involves outlining designs in underglaze blue, firing at high temperatures, then filling them with bright overglaze enamels and re-firing. The resulting style looks like the underglaze and overglaze colors are competing or perfectly fitted together.

The fact that this year I watched more older #cdramas than 2025 releases makes it worth posting my top 3 favorites from those non-2025releases, which are:-

1. #MingDynasty (rewatch; historical)
2. #TheRiseofPhoenixes (court intrigue)
3. #TheStoryofMinglan (family saga)

Eunuchs in #China built the #GreatWall & were also #CivilServants. In 105 CE, the #eunuch Tsai Lun invented #paper. About 700 years later, another eunuch, Feng Tao, invented #blockprinting. And in the #MingDynasty, eunuchs popularized the use of #ToiletPaper.
