With all the being said, I would recommend #LovingStrangers if you've already seen #MyMister and want a slightly different take on that material. All of the performances are as good as the original, which may be a controversial take given how many fans there are of Lee Sun-Kyun and IU.

I had hoped the remake would do a bit more to rehabilitate their relationship, but as in #MyMister, the remake ends with the wife going abroad to be with their son; for all intents and purposes, the two appear to be on the path of permanent separation.

Finished all 28 episodes of #LovingStrangers. Overall, I can't recommend this over #MyMister, primarily because you get the same story in the latter in half the time as the former. In that respect, I was disappointed in how similar #LovingStrangers was to its source.

Nearing the end of #MyMister. It has been an emotional journey but one well worth taking. Incredible writing. direction and stunning performances. I was worried that this #kdrama would be overly sad or heavy but it really isn't. There's joy, community and comedy here too and I'm loving it so much :)

One place where I see an improvement over #MyMister is the portrayer of the ML's wife, here named Wu Yi Jun instead of Kang Yun Hui. The former is played by Jiang Yi Yan, while the latter was played by Lee Ji Ah.

The main reason I was able to get through all the episodes so quickly is by skipping all of the scenes involving the two brothers. I didn't care for their storylines in #MyMister, and the remains true in this new adaptation.

I was able to catch up on all sixteen released episodes of #LovingStrangers on Viki due to being housebound these last two days because of the blizzard. It is tracking pretty closely to #MyMister in terms of plot and performances.

I pretty much had that same reaction to #JangKiYong after #MyMister, but watching #MyRoomateIsaGumiho and #DynamiteKiss back-to-back fixed it. It helps he looks a little different now.

Remaking favorites like #MyMister, I have mixed feelings about. Why remake perfection? But also, I will probably watch and love it 😂

I put off watching this kdrama for years because I knew it would make me cry. Oh, and it did. But what a beautiful story. In my notes I wrote “a perfect enemies-to-lovers” but that’s not quite right. Maybe “enemies-to-love.” 10/10
