I normally close up my dyeing work in the winter but it's been 65 and quite sunny, so I did a vat with mushrooms

I used to naturally dye bolts and bolts of wool felt and this is some remaining product

Wonderful exhibit at the Bryggens Museum of the lifelong tapestry project by Norwegian weaver Ragna Breivik. She dyed her own wools with natural dyes. The tapestries are spectacular. And…there are trolls.

Participants in our recent #NaturalDyeing program got hands-on with #marigolds, dyer’s #coreopsis, and #hibiscus. They harvested blooms from our dye garden, let them “cook,” and created beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabric swatches. 🌺✨

Scouring cotton shirts (white cotton really is as gross as they say), picking scentless chamomile flowers, and simmering them. Then tannin and alum, then dyeing.
I like working with linen way better but this was an experiment.
