A focus stacked macro photo of a green, white, and black cicada from the front. The cicada's legs are green the bottom side of its face is white, the top part has a line of mottled black and green and then a thicker band of black. Three red ocelli, primitive eyes are in the center of its face in an inverted triangular pattern. It's large, glossy, green eyes mottled with black, are on the sides of the face. The pronotum, the area just behind the head, is green with some black in the middle and is covered in fine golden hair-like scales.
I stepped out to watch the evening sky, which was spectacular, and I will share that with y'all tomorrow. The city noise seems louder now that the academic year is back in full swing. However the #Cicadas are louder π
This handsome chonk is in genus #Neotibicen.
