We see Dendronotus frondosus at other sites, but they are typically under an inch long. This one was probably 3-4 inches!

Coryphella verrucosa are quite common around New England, but they are larger and much more abundant at this particular site.

I took my fisheye lens for its first New England splash and the results did not disappoint! Giant nudis in a field of pink hydroids in Portsmouth, New Hampshire!

A crazy-looking sea slug - or nudibranch - crawls on brown seaweed underwater. Its body is a glowing, ghostly white and is covered in soft, wiggly, long spikes. Each spike has a streak of black through the center and is tipped with an orange and white accent. Two horns stick out of its head and have a ribbed texture.

Costasiella ocellifera cruising across the sand. Like other sap-sucking slugs, these little dudes eat algae and steal their photosynthetic cells so they can generate their own energy from the sun.

I was looking in the sand for some other tiny slugs when I spotted this little Costasiella ocellifera. It was about the size of a grain of rice!
