On this #OnePlaceWednesday I'm enjoying an early Christmas present from the British Newspaper Archive: many past editions of the #Shropshire Star. Finding lots for #OnePlaceCharities and also for #OnePlaceEntertainment at Waters Upton - snooker matches, whist drives, fetes and flower shows so far.
I've not done as much as I hoped for #OnePlaceCharities this month but I have made a start. Lots more documents from the archives to type up when I can bear to look at the screen long enough. The earliest 2 have been done.

For #OnePlaceCharities this #OnePlaceWednesday may I offer you Bathsheba Davenport who left money to poor blind people of New church in Rossendale 'for as long as they remain blind'. No faking it then.
The 'Zoom Room' is open for pre-conference chat. Several members already there, and we're talking about this month's #OnePlaceStudies blogging prompt #OnePlaceCharities and the joys of reading 'secretary hand.' #OPSConf2024

Our #OnePlaceStudy blogging and social media prompt for November is #OnePlaceCharities. Charities were important to many in our Places. Who were the benefactors and what did their charities provide? Who were the recipients? What other charitable giving occurred in our OPS Places?
