There are a variety of different size boulders and rocks strewn around the frame, and they are more densely packed together in the bottom half of the frame. There are a variety of rock types like granite, sand, and volcanic, and some are covered in seaweed and molluscs with pools of seawater and seaweed scattered around them. The top half of the frame is mostly sea water with smaller rocks scattered around and partially submerged under the seawater, which is a dead dalm and has a silvery mirror finish to it.

Een scholekster neemt een bad in een vijver. Het water beweegt om de vogel heen, het lijkt wel een waterballet. Op de achtergrond kringen in het water door de bewegingen van de scholekster.

Een scholekster komt net weer boven water na een kleine duik voor een verfrissend ochtendbad. Het water spat iets op. De vogel kijkt naar links.

Een scholekster loopt door het water. De andere scholekster heeft de snavel in het water, waarschijnlijk op zoek naar een lekker ontbijtje.

De scholeksters hebben hun weg weer gevonden naar de vijver. Ze hebben het prima naar hun zin en laten duidelijk horen dat ze weer present zijn. Prachtige vogels!

A striking, low-profile photograph of a single Oystercatcher bird, standing in right-facing profile on a pebbled and sandy beach. The bird is illuminated by warm, dramatic golden-hour sunlight (sunrise or sunset), which makes its stark white underparts glow with a warm hue and casts light on the foreground textures. Its plumage is primarily deep black on the head, neck, and back, contrasting with the pure white of its breast and belly. A long, straight, vibrant orange-red bill is prominent. Its orange legs are also visible, one with a small, barely distinct metal band.

This Oystercatcher managed to find the only narrow slit of sun already hitting the beach in the early morning :)
