A very large big leaf maple grows near a neighborhood sidewalk. The trunk would require at least three or four people to ring it. Its bare branches reach up to the blue sky streaked with some clouds. You can see a few houses down the street, with some parked cars. I think this is the largest single trunk big leaf maple I have ever seen.

The white petals of a male osoberry flower poke out from a red and green bud cluster. The pale yellow anthers are barely visible. The background is full of out of focus, still bare gray twigs from the berry shrubs.

A silk tassel bush is blooming, with a cluster of long flower catkins in a light olive green hanging down from a branch, surrounded by green leaves. The catkins look as if each small frilly bell-shaped flower were growing out of the one above it. The leaves are smooth and leathery, with a wooly underside.
