Photograph taken on top of the ridge of hills known as The Pennines in northern England. Usually there is a very tall TV mast anchored by huge steel cables visible which can be reached across the moorland. Not today...can just see the top of the mast above the thick mist. Moorland bathed in sunlight though and looks bleakly beautiful. We encountered snow, sleet and sunshine today. Great day out all wrapped up!

Photograph taken on 2nd Jan 2023 upon on the Pennines, looking down at my mud covered legs. Decided to ignore the 'keep to the path' sign and instead sink to my knees in moorland sludge. Had to be pulled out as my wellies got stuck. Sheer volume of layers didn't help! Lots of laughter but my goodness moorland sludge is very, very cold. Will I learn from this...probably not. Pair of legs in baggy pale jeans and rainbow wellies covered in dark brown mud to the knees, standing on a stone slab amongst the short moorland grass.
