🌾 A Pair Standing Tall in the Prairie Sometimes, the most incredible moments happen when you least expect them. Driving along Highway 12 near Lonesand, Manitoba, I noticed not just one, but a pair of Sandhill Cranes (Antigone canadensis) standing together in the open prairie grass. Their graceful posture and calm presence instantly caught my eye, so I pulled over, carefully moved through the ditch, and got myself right up to the fence line. Sandhill Cranes are known for their strength, elegance, and lifelong pair bonds — so seeing them side by side in the wild was truly special. Capturing their bond in a single frame reminded me how much beauty exists in the quiet corners of nature, if only we pause to look.
