Ring Ouzel (Turdus torquatus): 24cm (9.4in). This is a mainly European member of the thrush family Turdidae. The male is predominantly black with a conspicuous white crescent across its breast. Females are browner and duller than males. Nice photo taken by Jeff Lack in the UK. #RingOuzel #wildlifr

An elusive southbound #RingOuzel, high up in a tree in the lunchtime sunshine 🌞 today. #Dartmoor #DevonBirds #UKBirding
A nice morning on Devon's #Dartmoor looking for the #MountainBlackbird #RingOuzel. Pleased to see at least 14 individuals, including a group of 11 together. Today's birds were a little distant and mainly adults. #DevonBirds #UKBirding
I got up early to be on Dartmoor for sunrise and my third attempt at seeing Ring Ouzel. My reward was five of them. At last! Great views, rubbish video.

Super views of this 1w #RingOuzel on Devon's #Dartmoor today. The second half of October simply wouldn't be the same without them. Wonderful birds in their silver filigree finery. #DevonBirds #UKBirding

Very fortunate to spot a pair of #RingOuzel out in the peaks today. They were foraging to feed some very demanding chicks. The moorland is so dry right now it must be extra hard for them all to
Ring Ouzels are summer migrants that breed in upland habitats such as moorland and mountains.
Part of the Thrush family, they are roughly the same size as a Blackbird however, the broad crescent across their chest clearly sets them apart.

One day I want to see a #RingOuzel... there is a sign about their nests at #StanageEdge... but we've never seen one... I got all excitable when we were there the other day... only to realise that I was staring at a dog poo bag... #SpringWatch
