🌎 Rose-breasted Grosbeak (Pheucticus ludovicianus) The Rose-breasted Grosbeak is a striking bird with a large, conical bill and a distinctive rose-red triangular patch on its otherwise black and white breast. Females and juveniles are less colourful, with streaky brown and white plumage. The species breeds in deciduous and mixed forests across eastern North America, from Canada to the central United States. It's a migratory bird that spends its winters in Central and South America. The bird is facing to the left, and some parts of the left wing and tail are obscured by the branch. This bird has mostly dark brown and black colouration, with patches of lighter feathers on the face, wings, back, and tail. There are also notes of a greyish tan on the abdomen, face, and shoulder. The juvenile also has a developing patch of reddish-orange on the breast, still speckled with some darker feathers.
Kinda feeling like my colouration ended up off on this one, but also could've been a lot worse I guess 😅
