Stellar’s Jay pulling a raw, unsalted peanut from our feeder…watched it “swallow” as many as 3 peanuts to regurgitate and store to eat later…excellent mimic…known for “camp robber” behavior in parks…

With #BirdOfTheDay themes of #Feeders and #Green, I'm thinking of when this young green Painted Bunting visited my feeders for a few days (it's not supposed to be in California!) #birds

Three rufous tailed hummingbirds are fighting over access to a feeder. One on the left is sitting on a feeder perch seemingly watching the other two on the other side of the feeder. One of those is higher up with its body facing the camera, tail feathers spread and wings beating. The other, to its rights, is seen in profile facing left towards the feeder.

A violet crowned woodnymph is perched on a red hummingbird feeder. Seen fairly close to, in profile facing right, details of the emerald and violet feathers visible.
