Goldfinches are busy munching Russian sage seeds. I very much like the color combination of the flower and the bird, but this sage isn’t a California native plant, so some ecologists have concerns about the potential impact on the native ecosystem. Both male and female finches were in sight, but only the female kept eating while I was taking photos.
