By June when most #CaliforniaWildflowers have run their course, this one shows up: #FarewelltoSpring, appropriately named as it is here to usher in #Summer. It is a beautiful 4-petal pinkish species of #Clarkia native to our #SantaClaraValley .

This black and white photograph shows a collection of tents in what appears to be an open field. The scene suggests the temporary settlement of migrant workers, likely during harvest seasons when labor was needed for crops like peas or other vegetables.

In the foreground, several large canvas tents are pitched on uneven ground with patches of dry grass visible between them. Some of these structures have tarpaulin coverings partially draped over their frames, while others show signs of wear and tear, such as torn fabric hanging from the sides.

A few individuals can be seen within this makeshift community; one person is walking among the tents, perhaps attending to tasks or interacting with fellow workers. Another individual appears seated near a vehicle on the right side of the photo, suggesting transportation for both people and supplies needed in their nomadic lifestyle.

Various objects are scattered throughout the field around the tents: barrels, crates, and what looks like agricultural equipment hinting at work related activities such as planting or harvesting crops. The presence of these items along with the makeshift nature of the dwellings suggests a temporary settlement where workers live while engaged in labor for a specific period before moving on to another location.

In the background, there is an expansive flat landscape that extends into the distance under a clear sky, indicating rural surroundings rather [...]

A black-and-white photograph of a woman walking through a field while carrying a bucket on her right hand. She is wearing white pants, a light-colored sweater with dark buttons, and shoes that appear to be work boots or moccasins. Her hair is covered by a turban-style head covering, which seems to have some decorative bow-like detail at the front.
The woman appears focused as she walks through what looks like a tomato field based on the foliage visible in the image. The ground shows signs of cultivation with small plants and soil disturbed around her feet. In the background, there are more rows extending into the distance under an overcast sky.
