Photo of a single Elf or Ruby Elf-cup fungus (genus Sarcoscypha), amongst green moss plus dead twigs and leaf litter. The fungus is like a small bowl with a notch in it; the uppermost, inner surface is red, while the underside or outer surface (which we can't see much of, as we are looking down on this specimen) is a pale reddish pink.
