Macro of a tiny cluster of slime mold fruiting bodies that are white to pink, on the tips of dark stalks. They are fruiting from a slimy area on a decomposing tree trunk.

Chocolate Tube Slime (Stemonitis sp.) last week in Glen Ellen, Ca. for #TextureTuesday. These fruiting bodies (sporangia) don't look chocolatey yet, but will turn brown as they mature.💚

If I could find an online class on myxomycetes, I would be so happy. Any slime mold nerds out there know of anything available? I am studying from books but I really need to do more than take notes from a book to learn something properly. Google has failed me here.
