Photo of a leafy shoot. The stems and leaves are glandular and dozens of fungus gnats are trapped by the sticky glands. Photo by Scott Zona CC BY-NC 2.0.
A surface is described as 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 when it’s covered with glandular hairs. In the case of this Petunia exserta, the glands are tiny but sticky enough to trap lots of fungus gnats! (This is a great plant for gnat control in a greenhouse.) #Solanaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
Annotated photo of two tubular flowers. A bracket indicates the tube. Another bracket indicates the limb. Photo by Scott Zona CC BY-NC 2.0.
In past posts, I’ve mentioned “limb” and “tube” when referring to the flower. These terms apply to sympetalous (petals united) flowers, like this Brunfelsia lactea, where the corolla is narrow at the base & flares broadly at its apex. #Solanaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
Photo of a single, white datura flower annotated with brackets and text. A bracket indicates the calyx, and another bracket indicates the corolla. The text reads: “Corolla = collective term for the petals, especially if individual petals are not obvious. Calyx = collective term for the sepals, especially if individual sepals are not obvious. Calyx + corolla = perianth.” Photo by Scott Zona CC BY-NC 2.0.
The sepals and petals have collective terms. The calyx is the collective term for sepals; the corolla is the collective term for petals. Taken together, they are the perianth. The model is Datura metel 'Belle Blanche' #Solanaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

Our lovely #BSBI #Solanaceae Referee is away - in the meantime, anyone have any thoughts on this? Sandy arable margin, coastal SE Suffolk. From a couple of metres away I'd assumed S nitidibaccatum, but leaves well-dissected, and not at all glandular-hairy and so wondering about S sarrachoides.

Artwork of Satine from Solanaceae by DarkChibiShadow from a sponsored stream. Satine (they/them), a blue-haired non-binary transfem witch, is dressed in a light blue spectre outfit in an orgy with three other spooky spectres with their cocks out. They're sucking off one cock, with another cock cumming on Satine's right butt cheek.
Oh my! Its a spooky orgy with Satine from @darkchibishadow.bsky.social's comic #Solanaceae and a few spectres!
This was from a stream I sponsored @darkchibishadow.bsky.social to do for Satine (my favourite of DCS' characters!)
