The @naturalengland.bsky.social
#SpeciesRecoveryProgramme has invested £13m to help 150+ threatened species across England. On the Hogsmill, it’s enabling our WET Hogsmill project:
🐾 Reintroduce water voles
🌿 Create habitats for European eel & brown/sea trout
🦔 Build a wildlife pass under the A3
🥳Today we are celebrating the success of this project, with Natural England & the other successful projects funded by the scheme. #SpeciesRecoveryProgramme
@naturalengland.bsky.social’s #SpeciesRecoveryProgramme delivers targeted action for threatened species with bespoke needs.

🦪 Over 18 months we’ve worked to protect freshwater pearl mussels in the Rivers Irt & Ehen, thanks to Natural England’s #SpeciesRecoveryProgramme. There’s been lots of hard graft, but recovery’s only just begun... Infographic here 👇 #ProtectOurRivers #NatureRecovery #FWPM
A construction site featuring a large excavator arm and bucket digging into reddish soil in the foreground. A volunteer in a high-visibility vest and red cap stands nearby, watching the excavation. In the background, additional construction vehicles and equipment are visible behind a temporary fence, with open fields and a cloudy sky beyond.
A worker operates a small yellow dumper, releasing reddish-brown soil onto a cleared area bordered by lush greenery. The soil is freshly placed, for habitat creation or restoration. Surrounded by trees and native vegetation.
We’ve donated 10 tonnes of sand from Tamworth Road Narrows to #PurpleHorizons for new bee beaches at Pelsall North Common—providing habitats for rare #SolitaryBees! 🐝
