Y'day’s #StateOfNature report was depressing, yet not surprising. Thriving habitats & resilient ecosystems are needed for #nature recovery & although restoration projects are seeing positive impacts, Protected Landscapes need more resources to effectively deliver for @AONBFamily.

The butterfly & moth data gathered by @savebutterflies & thousands of wonderful volunteers, & the research we do with it, is vital to understand what is happening to biodiversity & why. #StateOfNature. Word cloud from some of our collaborative research using these data.

The #StateOfNature 2023 report makes for sobering reading. While the causes are many, we need to reverse habitat loss to halt declines and create more space (and time) for wild nature to recover. How? #rewilding has to be one answer, with focus on re(al)wilding wherever possible.
