I found some stinkhorns! I smelled them before I saw them.
“They have a slimy cap covered in spores that smell like carrion. The smell attracts insects which crawl over the stinkhorn and get covered in spores.

Oldies from March. I always smell these guys before I see them. Phallaceae is a family of fungi commonly known as stinkhorns. They are recognizable for their foul odor and phallic shape when mature. These were different looking than the ones I normally find. #mushrooms #stinkhorns #fungifriends
