On the side of a stone-faced former government building, the elegant Trajanic capitals are carved: POSTAL STATION E (I guess about 8" tall, deep enough that the sun casts a pronounced light and dark relief). Above the letters is a large (more than one metre?) crest (the Canadian coat of arms—the Union Jack, fleurs-de-lis, a shield with more symbols, harp, capped by a regal crown and uh, idk, a griffon waving a maple leaf?), featuring lion and unicorn, both apparently smoking tobacco pipes. The motto A MARI USQUE AD MARE in a ribbon underneath—"From sea to sea," as far as my Latin goes.

Kind of like a Lichtenberg figure, too!

But my Alt text failed to describe the main feature I was referring to, the crest and stonecarved lettering.
