Someone was asking me if there is #strawbale building in #Italy. Of course, there is #strawbuilding almost everywhere. Just not yet in the quantity that it replaces highly fossil construction of today. (It could, for a good chunk.)

You can also see this as an opportunity for massive CARBON STORAGE. These are huge and very tight bales , 70cm. The typical #strawbale is 36cm over here and this is usually plenty good enough to meet #passivehouse insulation for retrofits.

A few years ago we decided to retrofit our house with straw bale insulation. As you can maybe see it was a challenge in a typical north german Zweiständerhaus built with logs. Some hewn 🪓 most not 😉. The #strawbale insulation was the least difficult part. #wrapping
