This poem is about some of my come back in life. This is only the half of it. I got kicked out of school for the rest of the year for fighting. Then I got shot in the leg and almost died. Took care of my leg, bent my leg in place. Quickly recovered, and after that. Enrolled back in school, got a job. Worked the job until it closed down
and got my diploma. Doing both 2-3 years straight, and I started of college with a 4.0 gpa. And my poem was a part of a stop the gun violence project. See my pinned post it’s the poem that was a part of the stop the gun violence project.
It’s called “Mind Heart in Soul”

These accomplishments may be very small to many, but it’s a big deal to me.

               Poem starts now

Feeling pain that’s deep like the
abyss regretting some of the opportunities that I’ve missed as life’s pain crushed me into particles and left me pulverized I pulled myself together came back and materialized now it’s time to mobilize and continue to survive thrive #resilience #poetry #streetpoetry

Birds
in the air
Soaring
through big
White cities
with fovea centralis
eyes
observing the scene
wings of
Freedom
Chains broken
As I live through
the crime rate in
The city I
Wish I had wings and I wished the wind Could lift me too #poetrycommunity #poetry #streetpoetry #streetpoet #Emoetry

"the bandstand stinks of urine and feces
in my mouth an unpalatable taste..."

A poem about the chaotic symphony of the city.
The things we plant that break, and the bitter tastes we try to wash away.

A final post for Burn's night. Despite being written over 200 years ago, much of Burns' work remains relevant today, and examples of it can be found it all sorts of places around Glasgow.

Another of the poems engraved into one of the flagstones of the viewing point at the end of Hill Street in the Garnethill area of Glasgow, along with part of the view you get from it of the spire of Saint Mary's Episcopal Cathedral.

A quiet city street at night after rainfall. Wet pavement reflects streetlights and red traffic signals. A row of teal electric scooters is parked along the curb beside a sidewalk and trees. The street is empty of people and cars, creating a calm, paused atmosphere after the rain.

Day 7 of One-a-Day.
After the rain, the streets forget their noise.
Light stretches across wet pavement,
wheels stand still,
and the night keeps watch.

This particular poem is an alternative take on the well-known rhyme about the Glasgow Coat of Arms.

A poem by Edwin Morgan inscribed into a flagstone on Candleriggs in Glasgow, just outside the City Halls. Born in 1920, Morgan became the city's first poet laureate in 1999.

A winter street intersection in Manitou Springs, Colorado. A green street sign marks Canon Avenue and Manitou Avenue. Red and gold holiday bows decorate the railing and a lamppost. Evergreen garlands line the street, and colorful historic buildings in teal and brick red appear in the background. A parked car is partially visible at the bottom of the frame.

Day 5 of One-a-Day
At the crossroads, winter leaves an offering
light on iron,
bows on railings,
the pause before the turning,
the hinge of the season,
a place where the dark stops expanding.
If this one wants to come home with you, I left the way in the first comment 🤍

A cobblestone plaza glows under low-angle sunlight, casting long, dramatic shadows. The central focus is the elongated silhouette of a person wearing a wide-brimmed hat, stretching forward across the textured stones. The shadow leads the viewer’s eye into the frame, evoking motion, solitude, and introspection. The person is not directly visible—only their shadow—suggesting themes of identity, presence, and transience. In the background, buildings, outdoor seating, and scattered figures hint at a public space alive with quiet activity. The cobblestones are worn and uneven, rich in texture and history, contrasting with the crisp darkness of the shadow. A small inset in the bottom right corner shows a close-up of a man in sunglasses and a hat, possibly the subject of the shadow, adding a personal layer to the scene. The lighting—warm and golden—suggests early morning or late afternoon, enhancing the cinematic mood. The image captures a poetic moment: the interplay of light and dark, presence and absence. It reflects on how we move through the world, sometimes ahead of our shadow, sometimes followed by it. A visual metaphor for memory, identity, and quiet reflection.

Guy on my morning walk is wearing:

Leather jacket,

Blue pajama bottoms,

Cigarette,

Old boots.

Turns out it was true when you said you were gonna do whatever you were gonna do.
