AUNT BETTY (O.S.) Ah, you must be Spider. Spider turns. An older woman approaches him from within the old doors of the boarding house. AUNT BETTY (60s, White): a chipper lady of dotty mannerisms and a fluffy red dress. Either knows everything or nothing... AUNT BETTY Carmen called ahead. She said to expect you at twelve sharp. That being said, it’s five past... Spider gives her a shrug. AUNT BETTY (CONT'D) Oh, but it’s not a big deal is it, really? Welcome to Parvusville and the Trenton Boarding House. I’m Mrs. Trenton, but... She glances around conspiratively, as if a secret looms. AUNT BETTY (CONT'D) Well, everyone calls me Aunt Betty, so you can too! Spider gives her a thumbs up, nodding along to her words. MRS. TRENTON (CONT'D) Now, what say we get you settled in? Hm, you packed rather light didn’t you, dearie? Spider just shrugs - nothing but the clothes on his back. MRS. TRENTON Only the essentials, that’s what I always say. Come along then. Spider begins to follow her indoors. A soft <WHIRR> of an engine gives him pause. He looks around. Spots four tiny sports cars zooming across the pavement, keeping within a chalk lined ‘track’. Spider stares. Rubs his eyes. Stares some more. The cars are gone, perhaps around the corner. AUNT BETTY (O.S.) Today Spider, thank you! Spider shakes his head. Heads indoors.
Spider and Bonnie from the OG Micro Machines video game hang out together. Bonnie sits atop a yellow jeep's hood, chattering about something or other, while Spider leans against the front and listens to her. Artwork was done by @jrockzart.bsky.social, and done well at that! I'd recommend following & commissioning him while he's got slots open~!
