A female valley carpenter be rests on a Lantana leaf. The bee is large and black with iridescent purple wings. The lantana leaves are shades from light to medium green, and the flowers are pink.

This Valley Carpenter Bee was struggling in the gravel on my side yard. 🥺

I offered her my hand and the poor baby climbed on.

I carried her to the Lantana, where she could regain her strength.
