A very large cooked beetroot, most of which is now in the jars with garlic, ginger and chilli to ferment.
This year much of what we are growing to eat are rather large, no idea why.

Having the first early girl tomato on toast from garden! Perfect ripe, fell off vine with the slightest tug. We had a cool May so plants took a bit to get going. There are 9 more green tomatoes this size on the vines. Will ripen very quickly now!

What do all you #VegGarden peeps use for #mulch? Or do you even use any? I usually use straw. I like how it keeps the plants from drying out quickly after watering and keeps any weeds down. At the end of the season I just mix it in the soil. Appreciate any tips! Thank you 🙏 ❤️🍅🥒🥦
