A wide paved walkway curves between small paned windows on the left and storerooms on the right, all dominated by a sinuous glass roof. Late afternoon sunlight gives the passage a warm glow. Two passengers make their way to the ferry entrance. The first station was built in 1865 but developed as we see it today in 1903/4 to allow passengers undercover protection between platform and pier. Designed by James Miller it has Grade A architectural listing. It also houses a second hand bookstore and cafe.
