Back from the apocalyptic weekend and for #wipwednesdsy I've almost finished the Saturnine Dreadnaught, and whilst it dries I added a little more flair to some models bases, rather than leave it as just texture paint as I normally do. Outside, the wind was building up into a storm, dark clouds having turned mid-day into dark night. Bang Chan was trying to stay calm, despite fear reaching out its claws as the light faded. "Hey," a voice gently knocked against the door of the dark room that fear had chased him into. The scent immediately settled into his nose, Hyunjin climbing into his lap to hug him — still not something Bang Chan was used to from him but all the more appreciative of it. His shaven head settled into the curve of his neck, arms sorting themselves around his shoulders and his own wrapping around Hyune's waist as if they had never fit better anywhere else. Hyunjin didn't say anything, but he didn't have to. Chan knew what he was trying to tell him, the emotional link making that crystal clear — just as the other knew how scared he felt which he was sure was the reason he'd climbed into his arms in the first place. To soothe him. To tell him everything was okay, despite the world seemingly going under.

The machine continued its clanging. Two machines over, a bitter grandmother glared at them. Ed waved his hand in front of the guy’s face. “Earth to… whoever you are.” “What? Hmm?” The guy blinked alert, his frown deepening. “Oh.” “You wanna get that?” Ed asked, gesturing to the machine. “Suppose I ought so,” the guy said, making no move to do so.
Ed hung back, unable to leave. There was something familiar about the guy. Maybe sad-sack recognized sad-sack. Maybe he was just into confusing blonds. “Hey, tell you what,” Ed said, deciding to take a swing. “You deal with this and I’ll let you buy me a drink.” The guy laughed. “Oh, you’ll let me,” he said and finally made eye contact. Ed was fucked. “You just look like you need a vacation,” he said, half-stuttering to play along.

Namjoon, Hoseok, and Yoongi stepped out of the car. Namjoon checked the location against the invitation in his email, but the “Speed dating tonight!” sign in the window was enough of a clue that he didn’t really need to. “Are we ready?” Hoseok asked. “Hyung, take off your hoodie.” “I’m not taking off my hoodie,” Yoongi said with a scowl. “You have to pretend you’re trying.” “Do I?” “Hyung,” Namjoon said, trying to make his eyes extra pleading. Yoongi scoffed. “I hate you,” he said, but pulled the black hoodie off. Underneath, he had jeans and a surprisingly well-fitting black T-shirt. Hoseok stepped in to brush his hair back into place and Yoongi batted his hand away. “Can we go already?”

When the knock finally comes, Stede exhales sharply, tugging at the hem of his shirt, willing his heart to slow down. He opens the door—and promptly forgets how to breathe. Ed’s standing there in black and yellow plaid trousers, a vintage band tee, and a leather jacket that looks like it was tailor-made to ruin people. His hair’s pulled half-up, strands falling artfully around his face, and he’s holding a motorcycle helmet in one hand... and another helmet and leather jacket in the other. “Now, before you say no,” Ed says, grin playful and absolutely lethal, “please consider just how hot I’d look sitting on my bike.” It’s unfair. Criminal, even. Stede lets out a startled laugh, heat blooming in his chest. “You’re dangerous,” he says, not quite meaning the bike. Ed just winks. “That’s not a no.” And Stede thinks—God help me, how could it be?
