More #MacroMonday madness. One way to get clicks on your social media ... a click beetle from Mount Field National Park in Tasmania. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Pretty sure this is Monocrepidius genus, but no idea of the species. Just waiting for this Bennet's Wallaby (Notamacropus rufogriseus) to finish trashing my terrace at the Bruny Island Hotel. I guess it didn't appreciate me calling it a red-neck ๐Ÿ˜‚ Red-necked Wallaby is their alternate common name. #WildTasmania #WildAustralia #wallabies #macropods

Close-up of feeding time at the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo near Taranna. No... not Toronto (for you Ontario natives. ๐Ÿ˜‚ )! When these little bad boys eat, they eat everything! Flesh, skin, fur, bones. Not a scrap left. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Unseasonably cool weather meant no #snakes on my Australia trip, except for a close encounter with this big boy... a Tiger Snake (Notechis scutatus) at the Inala Nature Reserve in Tasmania. Fifth most venomous snake in the world. #reptiles #WildTasmania #WildAustralia

I used to think Eucalyptus was a single species of tree. I now know that the genus includes over 700 species, from small, spindly shrubs to giants like this one... the Mountain Ash (Eucalyptus regnans). It's the tallest flowering plant in the world. #WildTasmania #WildAustralia #Eucalypts #bigtrees

Cross a wolf with a racoon and this is what you might get.. a Tasmanian Devil ๐Ÿ˜€. Carnivorous marsupial but 80% of its diet is carrion. It has one of the strongest bites on the planet when compared to body mass (bite force quotient). It can crunch through bone. #TasmanianDevils #WildTasmania

Being nocturnal, it's hard to see Tasmanian Devils (Sarcophilus harrisii) in the wild. There is an open range zoo in Taranna (Tasmanian Devil Unzoo) that let's you get up close to these amazing creatures. Feeding time is popular! ๐Ÿ˜€ #WildTasmania #TasmanianDevils #marsupials #Tasmania

A dramatic landscape photograph taken across Macquarie Harbour. The foreground is the dark, textured surface of the water.

In the middle ground, a thick horizontal layer of white fog or low cloud hangs over the dark forested coastline.

The background is dominated by large, deep blue mountains with patches of snow or light cloud near their peaks, set against a pale blue and white sky. Photo by Kev Peirce.

A photograph of a rugged coastline under a dramatic, cloudy sky.

Large grey boulders covered in bright orange lichen line the shore and lead out into the ocean where waves crash against them.

Coastal scrub and green foliage frame the right and bottom foreground.
