For #WoodworkWednesday here's a beautifully carved bench in Threave Castle #Scotland visited in 2024

I haven’t done woodwork for a while 🤔
I have a lot of tools that are just sitting in my basement although I used my circular saw to cut fallen tree branches in smaller pieces (not this trunk which is found near a station) 😏

The navel aisle with the pointed arch to the chancel wildly misaligned with the barrel vaulting
A pink and grey stone pillar in the north wall which is probably from the original Norman church. Halfway up are a couple of grotesque faces.
An oak pew end from the choir topped by a disc with a handsome carved owl. There was one on the other side too
The C15th octagonal Roborough stone font with coats of arms or hatchments on each face and very fancy wooden font cover topped with an eagle
To celebrate the arrival of @devonchurchland.bsky.social here are some highlights from St Peter’s Meavy. Covering #StoneworkSunday #WoodworkWednesday and #FontsOnFriday

Don’t know if #WoodworkWednesday exists on Bluesky but if it doesn’t it can start with these fantastic 1520s bench ends from Altarnun parish church. Which also had a corker for #FontsOnFriday but you’ll have to wait for that.
Is there such a thing as #WoodworkWednesday to accompany #IronworkThursday @InspectorSidell? #Burford #Worcs
