I can’t describe how HAPpY this quilt is making me feel. I’ve finally got the border right, it just needed a little tweaking. I took a leaf out of Gwen Marston’s book and didn’t worry about it fitting perfectly, I just chopped the last block in half.

Nebula background fabric with stylized planets and space objects fused to it. Oumuamua is created from gray fabric with permanent marker ink added to make it look like a rougher surface. I added a comet tail to represent the newly discovered visitor 3I/Atlas comet. Earth is depicted in top right corner along with our moon.

A small black cat is lying on a Halloween quilt draped over a chair. The quilt has a purple border stitched with bones. The pieced center is zig-zag rows of various Halloween fabrics separated by orange fabric. You can't really tell from the picture, but the center of the quilt is stitched with the outlines of two skeletons. These were drawn using my toddler twins as the models. In the background, a quilted art piece hangs on the back of a shelving unit. It features a silver rocket ship heading towards a ringed planet. An angel dressed in an orange outfit is hanging on to a fin of the rocket ship. Book shelves along the walls have Halloween decorations on them.

I love this picture mainly because of everything in the background. Sure, I love Parker and she's photogenic, but those quilts!
