Little bit of rum for my #barabrith. A traditional welsh cake - not usually spiced with rum but 🤷‍♀️ #IDNC 🤣

Bara Brith 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 which translates to Speckled Bread. Made this morning. It’s in my cake tin covered in baking paper left open for the photo. The tin lid is on the table and seems to match my wipe clean tablecloth colours. Greys and yellows.

Just made another Bara Brith. It always turns out delicious and everyone likes it.
My Xmas cake on the other hand doesn’t get eaten. They don’t like marzipan or icing.
I have a cunning plan! Dried cranberries in my next Bara Brith and a Santa 🎅 on the top!

My batch of #Barabrith fresh from the oven today! #Baking

A near black bowl filled with a dark brown, spiced loaf cut into slices and studded with currents. The crust peeks out on one side, baked to perfection. Pale cream pools on the other side and softens the exposed crumb of the loaf's slices.

Bread and butter pudding...
