I love when the smallest of insects stop by to say hello. Graphopsocus cruciatus in the garden today.

Cuneopalpus cyanops (Pscopotera). 7 April 2025 Topsham, Devon.

Another of those small interesting things that turn up on our house wall: Cuneopalpus cyanops, a barkfly often found on conifers. Seems fairly scarce - I can find no Devon records - but as usual with these things probably under recorded.

2024 Highlights #4. Blaste quadrimaculata (Psocidae). A fine little barkfly and another lucky find on our house wall. It appears to be the first Devon record but it's likely these things are under recorded if not under appreciated.

A barkfly, Stenopsocus stigmaticus, which is widely distributed in the UK, but infrequently recorded. The dark line in the wing combined with the green body help to distinguish this from other similar species.

Another new species for me from yesterday, the surprisingly jazzy #barkfly Stenopsocus stigmaticus, with its neon yellow wing veins, beaten from Hawthorn. #Insect #UKWildlife #Psocoptera
