The former Buchanan Retreat on Milngavie Road just outside Glasgow. Built in stages between 1861 and 1899, this Tudor Gothic building was constructed by the Buchanan sisters of Bellfield in Ayrshire as a residential home for the elderly.

Violent Scots whisky firm director abused wife for two years after marriage broke down Christopher Leggat, 44, verbally and violently abused Cara Leggat, 42, between September 2022 and November 2024.

Bearsden Roman Baths. The image shows an extensive area of low ruins in the foreground extending out into the frame on a slight slope climbing from right to left. The ruins are surrounded on three sides by railings and beyond them in the upper part of the frame are four-storey modern brick flats. There’s a high bare brick wall in the upper left. The sky is blue.

The remains of the remarkable Bearsden Roman Baths, on the Antonine Wall which was built between AD142 and 144. The baths were rediscovered in 1973 under 1860s development and are now overlooked by rather more modern neighbours. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...
