A branch with young aspen leaves. They are relatively rare in the Caledonian forest as they are readily browsed by herbivores. The leaves quiver eloquently in the wind and create a distinctive sound.
Delicate young aspen leaves (Populus tremula). It’s always exciting finding one in the native woodlands, as they can be really quite hard to find due to herbivore browsing.
