A male under a park bench & a female in a tree top in Getxo, northern Spain.

Four swans fly low over a muted, grey-blue shoreline under a dark, stormy sky. Three adult swans with bright white plumage and orange bills glide in a neat line, wings fully extended. Just above them, a younger swan with brown mottled feathers keeps pace, its wings lifted in mid-stroke. The background is soft and hazy, making the graceful, synchronized flight stand out clearly against the moody atmosphere.

🌍🌏 Eurasian Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) The male Eurasian Chaffinch is colourful, with a blue-grey cap, rust-red breast, and prominent white wing bars. The female is duller brown/grey but shares the white wing markings. It is widespread across Europe, Northwest Africa, and Western Asia, favouring woodland, parks, and gardens. They are social outside the breeding season, forming flocks. Males have a loud, distinctive song. Eleven subspecies are currently recognised. 2.5 Flash (Edited) Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1) Fun fact: Male Chaffinches have regional dialects in their song!
