A huge heavy and quite rare vintage 1970s handmade sterling silver minimalist modernist Heart design pendant necklace by Andreas Mikkelsen in Denmark. Super heavy gauge sterling silver sheet cut-out into a heart shaped pendant, and with two length of sterling chain leading to a unique handmade closure at rear. Entirely handmade knockout design piece of wearable art jewelry! Mikkelsen was both a manager at Georg Jensen and an independent goldsmith. Mikkelsen joined the Georg Jensen silversmithy in 1955, initially as a member of the management team. He became head of sales, head of production and product development and eventually managing director. He left Jensen in 1969-70. At this time he was developing his own artistic talents and collaborated with the silversmith Ove Wendt between 1970 and 1978 as well as working independently. This pendant is from that short period where he was designing for himself, and collaborating with Ove Wendt. The pendant measures just under 3.75" wide by 3" tall, and hangs on an integral 23" chain with unique handmade closure at rear. The necklace weighs 84.6 grams total. Marked as shown in my closeup photos, "Andreas Mikkelsen Denmark 925S" and design number "26". There are also two small hallmarks at center that I cannot make out, but are likely import marks into another country where this necklace would have been originally sold, most likely in Europe. Super rare design, super heavy construction, and striking minimalist modernist design! Excellent vintage condition.

A sculptural vintage 1970s handmade sterling silver and colorful moss agate modernist bracelet by Henning Ulrichsen of Fredericia, Denmark. Ulrichsen was a successful designer of modernist style jewelry in Denmark in the 1960s and 70s, and his business has since been run by his children and grand children. This is a sleek and powerful modernist bracelet by Ulrichsen that is also rare and unusual. It's the only example of his jewelry that I've seen (and I've seen hundreds of pieces by him) with moss agate, an unusual mysterious and colorful variety of quartz. The outer surfaces of the bracelet are highly polished, while the underside of the stone setting and the inside of the bracelet band are both textured as shown. This is a larger sized bracelet, and it will accommodate up to a 7.5" wrist. Measures 1-3/8" wide at top, rises 1/2" above the wrist, and weighs a hefty two ounces or approx 58 grams total. The stone setting at top has a hidden latch that opens and hinges outwards to allow an easy on and off the wrist. Fully marked inside the band as shown, "HU" maker mark for Henning Ulrichsen, also "925S Sterling Handmade Denmark". Excellent vintage condition.

A big pair of vintage 1950s 60s signed handmade sterling silver and black enamel modernist fish design cufflinks by Meka of Denmark. They were known for their jewelry and enamelware items, such as spoons, bowls, and salt and pepper shakers, that incorporated sterling components and colorful enamel. Ib Bluitgen worked in Georg Jensen's design department before starting his own studio and designs for Meka. A beautiful modernist 'fish' design pair of cufflinks in solid sterling silver with black enamel sections at front as shown. Each measures 1" across by 5/8" tall, and the pair weigh just over 12 grams total. Marked on the swivelbacks as shown, "Meka Sterling Denmark". Excellent vintage condition.

A huge and quite rare vintage 1980s handmade sterling silver post-modernist minimalist pear-shaped money clip design by Andreas Mikkelsen for Georg Jensen in Denmark. A single length of heavy gauge sterling silver wire in an overall pear shape! Genius design! The very definition of minimalism! He rejoined Jensen in 1979 and in the 1980s started designing jewelry and other products for the company. Besides jewelry items like necklaces, rings, bracelets etc, he also designed cufflinks, tie bars, and money clips as well as everyday objects like keyrings, picture frames, wall-clocks, and watches for both men and women. He has also designed several Christmas ornaments and candlesticks for Georg Jensen. His designs are often minimalist and without ornament. This money clip is a perfect example of his design aesthetic both at Georg Jensen, and his independent designs as well! The money clip measures just under 4" tall by 2-3/8" wide, and is satisfyingly weighty at 33.4 grams total. Marked as shown with the post-1945 Jensen mark in a dotted oval, also "A. Mik Denmark 925S". There is no design number, so this may be a one-off, or may not, but I've never seen it before, and it's the largest money clip that I've seen in my 45+ year career! Excellent vintage condition.

A lovely vintage 1940s 50s handmade sterling silver Art Deco Moderne Modernist floral design brooch by Carl One Frydensberg of Copenhagen, Denmark. Frydensberg opened his workshop in Copenhagen in 1949, and produced handmade sterling silver jewelry until the early 1980s. His designs vary considerably, but this is one of his outstanding and best pieces that I have seen! Owing as much to the Art Deco design aesthetic as to the modernist style of the mid-century, this lovely brooch is of three blooms over graceful arching leaves, all in a circular vase opening at top to one side. Such a beautiful design, and so well executed entirely by hand! Measures 2-1/8" tall by 1.25" wide, and weighs 11.6 grams total. Marked at back as shown with his maker mark initials "COF", along with "Denmark 925S". I'm guessing one of his early designs too, given that it's still very Art Deco Moderne in style. Excellent vintage condition.

a HUGE vintage 1950s 60s handmade hammered sterling silver modernist two-piece pendant on neckring necklace by the firm of Hermann Siersbol of Kastrup, Denmark. Lovely effect of the fine hammering this piece is that when the light plays across the surface it resembles light on water! Siersbol opened his workshop in 1945 and ran his business until his death in 1964, after which his children took over the business. He was well-known for his quality of both design and craftsmanship, and this necklace is an outstanding example! The very large two-piece pendant measures 4-3/8" long by 1-3/8" wide and hangs on an approximately 17" (closed) neckring, that of course can be worn open for larger necks, and the entire necklace weighs 41.4 grams total. Marked on both the bail of the pendant and the neckring, "HS" maker mark for Hermann Siersbol, and "925S" for sterling silver.
