A snow scene with a craggy hillside of russet coloured moorland and dark crags, below a blue sky with lines of cloud. The overall scene is one of a wild remote landscape.

One from the recent snows of one of my favourite Teesdale views. In the foreground is Falcon Clints and the river Tees. Beyond is Meldon Hill, Great and Little Dun Fell, with Cross Fell on the right of skyline.

This is a waterfall in a dark gorge with fallen autumnal leaves adding colour to the ground, while above the falls the colourful trees are illuminated by sunlight.

Yesterday we had a rather atmospheric frosty morning in Teesdale with a gentle mist moving through the trees.

North Pennine rainforest in Teesdale, County Durham, UK after heavy rainfall. The brown colouring incidentally is not pollution, but natural peat sediment runoff from the moors above.

Summerhill Force, Teesdale, UK. A scene that has changed a great deal after a storm brought down the tree you see across the beck. If I can find it I will post the pic that shows it still standing during a storm tomorrow.

As I swam in the tarns below Cronkley Scar, Lapwings came to the shore to drink and wash, while Wheatears flitted between grass and rocks, Wigeons whistled overhead and a Greylag gosling lay "sleeping". #UpperTeesdale #DurhamDales #BirdsSeenIn2024 9/10

Some of the Lesser Marshwort (Helosciadium inundatum) in the eastern tarn under Cronkley Scar was coated in this jelly like substance. Could it be ciliates in the order Sessilida? Perhaps Ophrydium or Vorticella? #upperTeesdale #Durham #durhamdales

After climb over Cronkley Fell, was divine to skinny dip in the extraordinarily warm (20°C), silky water of the tarn at 450m. Could have stayed in indefinitely.
