We had an amazing view at Hole in the Rock. Made up of beautiful sandstone formed 6-15 million years ago, the Hohokam people used one of the openings to record the changing of the seasons via sunlight position shining through. #EntSoc24 #getoutside #holeintherock #arizonahiking

TIL there's another genus of spitting #spider (Scytodidae) in the US! While in the Phoenix desert during #EntSoc24, we uncovered 2 specimens of #Dictis striatipes (one w/egg sac).
I thought all US spp. were in the genus #Scytodes but apparently this 1 sp. was synonymized [4 genera globally]
