Scott who were captured at Pawhuska Wednesday were identified by bank officials Thursday as the bandits who robbed the Farmers State Bank at Braman, Kay county, July 12. These three men, with George D. Shipley, who is being held at Chickasha charged with robbing a bank at Rush Springs are alleged to have conducted the daylight robbery at Braman in which the Farmers National and the First National banks were looted of $7485 cash and $31,300 in Liberty Bonds. * * * * Some notes on the robbers. Louis Conley was Burleigh Louis "Slim" Conley. Spellings of his name varied in the papers. Louis Connelly. Lewis Connely. Lewis Conley. For this reason he is difficult to track in the newspapers. He'd already been in the Oklahoma state pen and would be in it again. J. T. Scott was Jess Scott. In 1924, Neal, out on bond for various robberies, would kill himself in a murder-suicide.

Question! I've questions I occasionally throw out on the internet and never get an answer. This concerns an extended-family bank robber. How did robbers unload WWI Liberty Bonds? As they were numbered wouldn't it have been difficult to translate them into cash?
