A life-sized black horse mannequin with a rider displaying medieval armor and weaponry. The horse wears skirt-like pieces which cover the breast, sides and tail of its body. The faceplate had circular cut outs for its eyes and an expanded opening past the end of its nose. The headpiece has shielded ears and layers of plates running down its neck. In the middle of its brow is a round plate with a piercing horn. Although it's difficult to tell in this photo, the horse also has chainmail beneath the silver tone plates. The horse is positioned to be slightly rearing and the rider is leaning back with his legs straight in the stirrups. One hand holds the reins while the other raises a long sword in the air. Like his equine companion, he is fully covered in metal plate armor including a full face shield.

This set of armor (c1480) is part of The Wallace Collection in London. They have extensive armor and weapons holdings, but this medieval horse armor is especially rare. One of three near complete sets still in existence.

A close up photograph of an antique men's jacket and waistcoat with intricate embroidery. The waistcoat is a pale silvery grey with small buttons every couple inches running all the way up the chest. It is embroidered in pastel shades of cream, white, yellow, blue, and pink. The pattern is a mix of large single blooms (perhaps roses?) and smaller groupings that look like small bouquets of wild flowers and grasses. The coordinating jacket is an open cut to reveal the waistcoat. The chocolate brown fabric is trimmed along the edges with a leaf motif followed by more of the same floral patterns as the underlying waistcoat.

Found in the Inverness Museum, this late 1700s jacket and waistcoat covered in gorgeous embroidery is said to have belonged to Bonnie Prince Charlie although the museum notes there is no provenance to prove the link.
