(September Sunrise from Beacon Fell looking towards Pendle Hill)
Charcoal sketch of Bowland fells in Lancashire, capturing the blustery feeling. Smooth fells sweep across the sketch, darker patches of outcrop or darker grass in left bottom corner. Fence line and posts leading the eye towards Fairsnape, the highest fell in this area
Blustery on Bowland Fells this week … loving the simple feel of #pleinair charcoal sketching

Watercolour sketch depicting storm squalls moving across landscape. (Overly)Dark grey and blue clouds with rain falling in funnels onto distant hills Sketch book clips showing yo edges, signed by artist.
From the southern edge of Beacon Fell we watched storm squalls, like grey smoke serpents, barrel across Amounderness, Winter Hill and Ribble Valley, bringing to life the Met Office’s measled radar chart 💚 #dailynature #naturewriting #scape #cloudscape #rainscape #ForestOfBowland #watercolour

Really enjoyed today's visit to the Forest of Bowland's south - went up 3 hills (Parlick, Paddy's Pole, Fair Snape Fell), got 500+ meters of up and spent a lot of time talking about everything with a friend.
Happy that the weather was cooperative, we were a bit lucky!

A long, rocky track leads down the side of the fell. Heather moorland, with patches of bracken. A white dot is where we left the pickup truck, just short of a ford across a stream. Beyond the hills, the sky is bleak.
Lads, where'd we leave the truck? #ForestofBowland
The #YorkshireDales are for everyone... so it was uplifting to co-run a 4 mile off roadwalk with #access charity #AccesstheDales at Aysgarth Falls.
#AccesstheDales has 10 #Tramper #wheelchair hubs across the #YorkshireDales and #ForestofBowland making the inaccessible accessible to more people!
