Photo is of small sunflowers that never grew to their full size due to drought, now fading and dropping their seeds. Photo has a bit of a vintage look from a filter.

It's been a tough year for sunflowers in many gardens. Not enough water meant they were stunted in size, and most are gone past and are dropping their seeds for the birds. Still a kind of wabi-sabi beauty about them, though. #gardenssky #bloomscrolling #gardens #droughtflowers #NSdrought2025

A perfectly huge profusion of pale pink Harrington's Pink fall asters. I trim all my tall asters back in June by about β…“ which results in them being shorter and absolutely smothered in flowers. The bees and other pollinators love these flowers.

A field of sunflowers, most of the blooms facing one direction. One plant, with several bees on its big flower, is facing the other direction. A rebel sunflower? Bee THAT sunflower!

I go to the Sunflower Trail at Hennigar's Farm Market in Greenwich, NS, almost daily while it's open. Sunflowers follow the sun, and most of them were facing one way... but this one, nope. Bee THAT Sunflower! #bloomscrolling #gardenssky #sunflowers #canadagardens #pollinators

Two very large beefsteak type tomatoes, the variety Pineapple. It is red and yellow and when cut open, similar. Very sweet, my favourites to grow every year, and though they get a bit cracked and dimpled, they are heavenly and I'll always grow them.

"There's only two things that money can't buy, & that's true love and #homegrowntomatoes." This is Pineapple, a beefsteak type with red and yellow, very sweet flesh. My favourite. #gardensSky #growyourown #gardens #heritagetomatoes

Bumbles love this yellow flowered narrow leafed rudbeckia, it's its greenish yellow central cone and there are many around. I can only get so close with my iPhone.

Blue vervain (Verbena hastata) is a native plant that self seeds happily around my garden and attracts oodles of pollinators, especially bumblebees. The tall stems of petite purple flowers seem to make them very happy.

It's a muggy, muggy, MUGGY day today, with no rain yet to relieve the firefighters in Annapolis County or the farmers here. Plenty of bees in my garden, sort of indolently enjoying the nectar and pollen plants. #gardenssky #bloomscrolling #pollinators #gardens
