I like the tickle of moss under my palm cold stream water gasping at my feet the clack of pewter pebbles prised from the cold beach wind seizing my ribs the underside of birds flashing their pale bellies

a kite dragging its blue argument through the sky laundered sheets snapping on the line marigolds squeaking against plates hung to dry yellow udders dripping I like waiting for the hiss before the needle lets me in

But for me that little rule doesn't matter
