I had an AD tell me that my web portfolio was terrible. This was in front of a group. But then she told my friend that she really loved her Web portfolio. I re-vamped my web-portfolio according to what she liked about my friends. #kidlitartchat
I’ve learned a ton from SCBWI, plus 12x12, Nanowrimo, #kidlitartchat, & private crit groups. There’s no shortcut, but surrounding yourself with people working towards similar goals is invaluable.
