A walker (me) standing on a rock stack with a mountain in the background. The mountain (Lochnagar, meaning little loch of the noisy sound in gaelic) has a sculpted corrie containing said loch. Skies are blue, the sun is shining and there is little cloud cover.

A climber (me) ascending a steep snow slope using ice axes and crampons. The valley in the background is Glencoe and the mountain we're climbing is part of Bidean nam Bian, an old Scots gaelic name which means 'Peak of the Mountains'. It is misty and 'driech' (to use another Scots word) - a typical winter day in the hills here.

A couple of #mountain shots taken closer to home, in #Scotland.

The first is from #Lochnagar in Royal #Deeside in summer 2021 and the second from #Bidean in snowy #Glencoe in 2022.

Both were taken on friends' mobile phones.

Dec 13,14 2/2 Exploring gully fell thru snow into stream. Sky began to clear a bit and had a close eagle fly-past hunting hares. High wind at #Lochnagar needed knee taken on occasion, coldest day out this winter windchill reaching -20c. Bumped into friends out training on way down. #cairngorms
